Computer Network layered architecture


computer network model is a theoretical framework that describes how data is transmitted and processed within a computer network. There are several different types of network models, each with their own unique characteristics and features.


OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) model:


OSI(open system interconnection) is a seven-layer model that describes how data is transmitted and processed within a network. Each layer serves a specific function, such as data encapsulation, error detection and correction, and flow control.




TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) model: 


This is a four-layer model that is widely used in the internet and other networks. The model includes the Network Interface Layer, Internet Layer, Transport Layer and Application Layer


The Client-Server Model:


 Client-Server is a model in which the client requests information from the server, and the server sends the information back to the client. This model is commonly used in the World Wide Web, where the client is a web browser and the server is a web server.


The Peer-to-Peer Model: 


Peer-to-Peer model is a model in which all computers are considered equal and can act as both clients and servers. This model is commonly used in file sharing networks.


Each model has its own set of protocols and technologies that are used to transmit and process data. Understanding the different network models can help you to better understand how data is transmitted and processed within a network, and can also help you to design and troubleshoot networks.


Layered architecture of computer network
